One of the crucial buzzed-about bands of 2010, Sleigh Bells is the Brooklyn-based duo of Derek Miller and Alexis Krauss who carry huge noise, hip-hop beats and waves of synths on their debut album Treats. “It is a very noisy album, however that noise is usually formed into actually potent riffs,” says Hoard, including that the band is comparable in primitivism to the White Stripes. “There are songs, too. This isn’t the type of album that comes up and provides you a kiss; but it surely’s actually body-rocking. And although it typically looks as if these guys are simply screwing round, it is a fairly enjoyable hear.” Try this week’s New Music Report plus clips of the duo’s “Rill Rill” and “Inform ‘Em” within the video above.
