Lyrics:

We built this city
We built this city on rock and roll
Built this city
We built this city on rock and roll

Say you don’t know me or recognize my face
Say you don’t care who goes to that kind of place
Knee deep in the hoopla, sinking in your fight
Too many runaways eating up the night

Marconi plays the mambo, listen to the radio
Don’t you remember?
We built this city
We built this city on rock and roll

“You Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere” written by Bob Dylan in 1967 was recorded by The Byrds and released as a single on April 2, 1968, peaking at #74 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and featured Roger McGuinn as lead singer and Lloyd Green on pedal steel guitar. It was included on their sixth album, Sweetheart of the Rodeo released on August 30, 1968 on Columbia Records.
